Brookville's twin brother duo of Brock and Brodie Zacherl led their school's large state contingent by bringing home two second-place medals from last Saturday's Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling State Championship at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. Both Zacherls reached the finals in the 13-and-14-year-old division before losing. Brock dominated his way to the finals at 117 pounds, notching two technical falls and an 8-0 major decision before losing 2-0 to Penn Trafford's Solomon Chishko in the finals. Brodie won an 8-5 decision, technical fall and 6-3 decision to reach the finals. He was blanked, 2-0, by South Western's Max Good in the finals. The Zacherls won two of Brookville's five state medals. In all, 16 Brookville wrestlers qualified for the state tournament. Bryce Town placed fourth in the 11-and-12-year-old division at 145 pounds while Keelan Kunselman and Kai Sorbin finished fifth and eighth respectively in the 9-and-10-year-old division at 65 and 55 pounds. Town went 3-3 overall, losing in the consolation finals. Kunselman reached the semifinals before finishing with a 3-2 record to finish fifth. Sorbin went 2-3 in his eighth-place finish. The rest of the area schools combined to collect six top-eight medals. Clearfield led the way with two as Christian Stone (eighth at 13-14, 107 pounds) and Nolan Barger (fifth at 13-14, 132) earned medals.
